WordPress Hosting

Last updated April 10, 2026

HostGrower's WordPress Hosting is a dedicated platform built specifically for WordPress — not a generic hosting plan with WordPress installed on top. Every aspect of the infrastructure, from server configuration to caching and security, is optimised with WordPress in mind.

How is this different from Web Hosting?

While HostGrower's Web Hosting plans support WordPress through one-click installation alongside 80+ other applications, WordPress Hosting is a dedicated WordPress-only platform that goes further. The platform is tuned specifically for WordPress performance and includes features that are exclusive to WordPress customers:

  • Staging environment — test changes on a copy of your site before pushing them live
  • WP-CLI SSH access (Blue Ultra) — run WordPress commands directly from the command line
  • WordPress-optimised stack — server-level caching, PHP configuration, and security rules designed around how WordPress behaves
  • WordPress Tools in StackCP — a dedicated section in your control panel for managing WordPress Admin, plugins, themes, users, settings, and staging

If you're running WordPress seriously — whether it's a business site, a WooCommerce store, or a client project — WordPress Hosting gives you a more capable and stable foundation than standard web hosting.

WordPress Hosting Plans

There are three WordPress Hosting plans — Blue, Blue Plus, and Blue Ultra. All plans can be billed monthly or annually (annual billing includes two months free, and Blue Ultra includes a free domain for life).

Blue — £5.99/month

The entry point for WordPress hosting — everything you need to run a single WordPress site reliably and quickly.

  • Websites: 1
  • SSD Storage: 20 GB NVMe
  • Bandwidth: 100 GB
  • Mailboxes: 30 × 1 GB
  • Free SSL Certificate included
  • Staging Site included

Annual billing: £59.90/year (two months free included).

Blue Plus — £11.99/month

A WordPress-specific growth engine — suited for businesses, blogs with growing traffic, and WooCommerce stores that need more headroom.

  • Websites: 1
  • SSD Storage: 100 GB NVMe
  • Bandwidth: 500 GB
  • Mailboxes: 100 × 3 GB
  • Free SSL Certificate included
  • Staging Site included

Annual billing: £119.90/year (two months free included).

Blue Ultra — £17.99/month

A high-performance architecture for WordPress sites that cannot afford to be slow — ideal for large WooCommerce shops, high-traffic blogs, and agencies managing demanding client sites.

  • Websites: 1
  • SSD Storage: Unlimited NVMe
  • Bandwidth: Unlimited
  • Mailboxes: Unlimited × 10 GB
  • Free SSL Certificate included
  • Staging Site included
  • WP-CLI SSH Access included
  • Free Domain for Life included

Annual billing: £179.90/year (two months free + free domain for life included).

Which plan is right for me? Blue is the right starting point for most new WordPress sites. Blue Plus suits sites with growing content, an active WooCommerce shop, or higher traffic requirements. Blue Ultra is for those who need maximum resources and command-line access — particularly developers and high-traffic site owners.

Staging Environment

Every WordPress Hosting plan includes a staging site — a private, isolated copy of your live WordPress installation where you can safely test updates, new plugins, theme changes, or development work before anything goes public.

When you're happy with the changes on your staging site, you can push them to live with a single click from StackCP. This eliminates the risk of breaking your live site during updates — a common problem when working directly on production.

Best practice: Always test major WordPress core updates, plugin updates, and theme changes on staging first. Even a well-maintained site can behave unexpectedly after an update — staging lets you catch problems before your visitors do.

WordPress Tools in StackCP

WordPress Hosting customers have access to a dedicated WordPress Tools section inside StackCP that is not available on standard Web Hosting. From here you can:

  • Access your WordPress Admin directly without needing to navigate to /wp-admin
  • Reinstall WordPress cleanly if your installation becomes corrupted
  • Manage plugins — view installed plugins and their status
  • Manage themes — view and switch active themes
  • Manage users — view and edit WordPress user accounts
  • Access Settings — view core WordPress configuration
  • Use Staging — create, manage, and push your staging environment
  • Run a Checksum Report — verify WordPress core file integrity to detect tampering

Free WordPress Migration

Switching to HostGrower from another host is completely free. The migration service transfers your WordPress files, database, themes, plugins, and media library — leaving your new site identical to the one you migrated from. HostGrower's team handles the transfer directly, including from cPanel, WHM, Plesk, Fasthosting, and Heart Internet.

To arrange a migration, contact support after signing up and provide your current hosting credentials. Downtime during migration is minimal in most cases.
